PAPER |
Paper and paper based products such as cardboard are highly sensitive to humidity and moisture levels. So during production, conversion, storage and distribution measurement and control can have significant benefits on quality.
Our application note: `Paper and Climate` provides a useful overview of the most significant effects of humidity variation, as well as defining some of the key technical issues that relate.

Application: Testing of ERH on paper (Quality control). Once produced, the ERH of paper is usually tested to make sure it is at an optimum level. Certain types of paper require specific values which has a benefit during the final application. Sword hygrometers offer a fast and convenient measurement of ERH at very low costs.
Products: Portable

Application: Measurement of paper dryer conditions. As paper is produced, it is dryed. The process involves air movement in order to transport the excess water away, so monitoring the conditions can allow the process engineer to optimise the drying process, optimising energy use and resolve a consistent final product.
Rotronic produce fixed or portable products that are suitable for this application, especially with their maximum working temperature of 200°C.
